The Power of Illustrative Writing
The Power of Illustrative WritingHow many times have you read an informative article and thought to yourself, 'I don't know that much about that; it sounds more like a video game than a paper?' Or, you've found yourself trying to read the grammar in a book and thought, 'There's no way I can try to make this work.' If you are finding yourself saying these things, then you should read illustrative writing. The most important thing to understand about illustration is that it does not take away from the power of a written article. As I have said in several previous articles, writing does not have to be serious. You can do a good job with a well-written essay; the same goes for writing an article summary. Illustrative writing, however, has the ability to make your writing appear very formal, even when the article is not.Illustrative writing has the ability to convey basic ideas and facts, which often falls short of being overly general. For example, in describing the writer's childhood, th e illustrative text draws attention to the major events, but leaves out some minor ones. Also, the text describes something which is of little interest to the reader; the information is general and doesn't really do anything to help the reader gain a better understanding of the topic at hand. In this case, you would want to consider something along the lines of a book report, which gives readers a detailed account of the events in a book.Of course, if the subject matter was more focused on the details and not the general idea, then the illustrations would not be as necessary. However, most people don't find this to be a problem. The fact that they may not be as useful as the written word does not necessarily mean that they are not interesting or important. In fact, the illustrations may help the reader draw a general conclusion. For example, an illustrative article on the featuresof different types of chairs would allow the reader to see which type of chair best suits them. An illust rative article on hair styles would show what the style looks like before the reader actually chooses a style. When you write an article, you must make sure that the general point or idea remains the same throughout. If there are any major changes, you need to communicate this so that the reader understands that the information provided was only meant to show one aspect of the topic. In addition, it is also important to communicate that you did not intend to draw any conclusions from the information provided. When you use an illustration in your writing, it helps the potential readers understand the topic easier and more quickly. The text needs to be clear and accurate; the images, if used, need to clearly indicate the goal of the article. Once the reader has an idea of what the text says, he or she will be able to answer your questions more easily and find the information within the text more readily. You don't want to distract your readers with another piece of material; you want th em to have your topic at the forefront of their minds. So, the next time you are working on a well-written essay, do not shy away from using pictures, cartoons, or other visual aids. They do not have to be from the world of television or movies; in fact, they can be as different as possible.
